Mini Metro Light Rail

In 2008, a 3 Km-long light-rail system was inaugurated to take passengers from the valley floor at Pian Massiano to the centre of Perugia's old town (Pincetto). It has the capacity to carry 72,000 passengers per day and was built to relieve the pressure car traffic was placing on the city.

Stops are located at convenient locations around Perugia: Stazione Pincetto for the centre of town, Stazione Fontivegge for the central train station, Stazione Cortonese for the Questura and Stazione Pian di Massiano for the Saturday market and Football Stadium.

The mini metro is open Monday to Saturday 07:00–21:20 and Sunday and holidays 08:30–20:30.

Tickets and passes are also good for transport on APM busses and can be purchased in Perugia at the APM Office at the train station in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, the APM Agency at Piazza Partigiani, at machines in Mini Metro stations, newsstands and tobacco shops (tabaccaio). Tickets purchased at Mini Metro stations can be purchased with coins, bills or bank cards.
